If you don't have any multiplier red bricks yet, the easiest way to get a ton of cash is to go to the Statue of Liberty island and do the mission there (its a Taco icon on your mini map). If it won't let you, simply visit a blue terminal, change characters there and then it will let you change freely. Also, after you have finished story mode, you won't have to go to a terminal to do this.
